Navajo-inspired Quilt by Martha Denney and Virginia Anderson. AR.00027: Traditional Quilt Makers in New Mexico Survey Project. FIELD NOTES: Navajo-patterned quilt- pieced by Martha Denney and Virginia Anderson (Martha's daughter, who owns the fabric store). Quilting thread is in colors to match the pieces. Martha Denney says, 'I would never have quilted in that color thread " (she objects to the black thread showing strongly on the white backing). The pattern is "taken from a rug design." Quilted by Margrette Baumgardner.
