This file contains material connected with the exhibition Containers, which was held in the small part of the Main Gallery known as the “Spanish Colonial Gallery” in the Museum of International Folk Art from November4, 1962 through May 31, 1963. The exhibition contained 50 items, the majority of which came from the collections of the Museum of New Mexico. The objects shown were selected to illustrate a certain homogeneity of design among countries which were once a part of the Spanish empire or whose cultural relations with Spain resulted in visible exchange and absorption of decorative elements.
